We believe real conservation starts with small, meaningful moments—like a child learning how to read an animal’s body language, or a guest realizing an animal chose to sit beside them because it felt safe. That’s what we create here.
The animals at our St. Pete location are not transported from elsewhere. We’ve built permanent, species-appropriate enclosures that exceed required space standards, designed with the help of veterinary professionals and animal behavior specialists. We’ve also partnered with a licensed sanctuary nearby to ensure expert care, support, and continuity.
Every animal in our care has access to quiet retreat areas, enrichment, and a routine that prioritizes their well-being—not our schedule.
We work closely with schools, after-school programs, and homeschool families to offer education that’s more than fun—it’s meaningful. Our lessons teach respect, responsibility, and real-world science in a way that’s age-appropriate and grounded in ethical animal care.
These programs help young people understand that animals aren’t here for our entertainment. They’re here to be respected, observed, and learned from—always on their terms.
We also provide self-guided educational tools at the café, including signage that helps guests understand capybara behavior, habitat needs, and how to interact without overwhelming or intruding.
Many of our volunteers and interns come here to grow. Some are students looking toward a career in animal care. Others are simply passionate about wildlife and want to help.
We offer real, hands-on opportunities for people to support our mission—always under guidance, and always with the animals’ comfort and safety as the top priority.
We believe people are at their best when they’re part of something bigger than themselves. That’s why our café is built not just to serve guests, but to empower a community of learners, advocates, and caregivers.
None of this happens in isolation. We’ve worked with:
These relationships help us stay rooted, keep learning, and grow responsibly. We know trust has to be earned—and we’re committed to that every step of the way.
We know some people have questions about animal cafés. And that’s okay. Questions help hold everyone accountable. We welcome honest conversations—but we ask that they start from a place of curiosity, not assumption.
Here’s what we’re not:
We’re building a new kind of experience—one where animals lead, and we follow respectfully. Every animal in our care has the space, time, and choice to be exactly who they are. If that resonates with you, we’d love to have you visit. And if you’re unsure, we’re here to talk.
Our door is open, our mission is clear, and we’re proud to do this work in and with the community we call home.
